TENG-MS helps elucidate marine natural products in Nav1.7 inhibitor screen

A collaborative drug-discovery study published in the Journal of Natural Products (2025) screened marine natural product extracts for inhibitors of the Nav1.7 sodium channel, a target of interest in pain research. The Fernández Lab contributed triboelectric nanogenerator mass spectrometry (TENG-MS) to help elucidate the structures of natural lipids identified in the screen.
